The Peak Lookout Hong Kong

The Peak is one of the main tourist attractions in Hong Kong and the Peak Lookout is an indoor/outdoor restaurant at the Peak.

Surprisedly, the restaurant didn't feel very touristy and it's a nice variation for the Hong Kong indoor crowded or loud typical setting. It has a beautiful European and Chinese mixture architecture, a green outdoors area and a beautiful view of the Hong Kong skyline. I'm a lover or old architecture and nature, so I'm happy to visit this place regardless of the food. Although our subject here is "gluten friendly places"- so let's get to the point.

Me at the Peak Lookout
Unfortunately, it's not the best place in Hong Kong for a gluten free diet, because they didn't offer basic gluten free items, such as gluten free bread and pasta and they weren't also able to change recipes to turn them gluten free. Even dishes that are normally gluten free, such as Thai Green Curry, they told me they added some sort of gluten to it.

The kids menu had absolutely no gluten free option.

They do offer a few gluten free options for adults, though. I had an Indian Lamb curry. It was ok! My fiancé had a club sandwich without bun... it was so, so.

So overall, I'd say it's not the best place for a gluten free family, but it's still possible to find "something" there.
